Our mission:
Welcome to Cooking San Francisco! Our mission is to share recipes we use to manage the balance between family and good food, and between health and happiness. Our blog also highlights our favorite San Francisco and Northern California food sources.
How we choose recipes:
We consider our recipes carefully and they have to be easy to prepare and use whole-food ingredients. All the recipes you see on this blog have been tested and photographed by us. Where we post a recipe in its original form we will do our best to site the source. We're all for making life easier and substituting pre-made items, as long as they are made with minimal processing. We certainly recommend you use organic ingredients as often as possible.
How it started:
Over the years we have collected many wonderful cookbooks and delicious recipes but, as our families grew, we realized our cooking needs changed from elaborate and decadent to simple and healthy. Our free time was consumed by school board meetings, work, ballet lessons and miles of carpool, and we needed to find an easy way to share and access our tried and true family favorites that are healthy and easy to make.
About us:
Kerrie and Daphne live and eat in San Francisco with their families. They share a passion for cooking, as well as, a lack of any professional training in the culinary arts.
